Ezio Recaldini, engineer and teacher

Graduated in Management Engineering from the University of Brescia, with a professional background spanning renewable energy (hydroelectric plants, solar thermal and photovoltaic systems) and technical project management, including abroad. In recent years I've focused on IT: networking (TCP/IP), cybersecurity, software development in Python and Linux environments, with some experience in IoT (Arduino, ESP8266) and cloud computing (OCI and AWS). I teach Networking and Systems at a technical institute specializing in IT.

Portfolio

engez.dev

Full-stack web application built with Flask and PostgreSQL, deployed in production over HTTPS, with role-based authentication (admin/students/partners) and a CI/CD pipeline. Designed in compliance with GDPR, with custom security hardening (distributed rate limiting, CSP, CSRF protection).

Technologies: Flask, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Gunicorn, Nginx, Redis, GitHub Actions

Smart home thermostat

Remote monitoring and control system for the home heating system: an ESP8266 reads temperature and humidity (DHT22 sensor) and drives a relay that manages the heat request to the boiler, over the MQTT protocol. A Flask application provides a web interface, historical data, and authentication-protected remote control.

Technologies: Flask, Python, MQTT (paho-mqtt), SQLite, ESP8266, MicroPython, Raspberry Pi

Envelope of tangent lines to a parabola

Teaching material: five incremental Python scripts that build, step by step, an interactive animation of the envelope of tangent lines to a parabola, using Matplotlib and NumPy — from the basic setup of the Cartesian plane up to an interface with controls to change the coefficient and number of tangents in real time.

Technologies: Python, Matplotlib, NumPy

Services

Network & systems administration

Network configuration and management (TCP/IP), security hardening, deployment on cloud infrastructure (Oracle Cloud, AWS).

Software development

Web applications (Python/Flask), automation, custom solutions — from design to production deployment.

Training

Courses and training paths in IT: networking, systems, security, programming — both in a school setting and for specific business needs.

AI enters mathematics: where things stand

In recent months artificial intelligence has started producing results the mathematical community didn't expect this soon — but how certain are they really? It depends on how they're verified.
